Since its formation in 1932, the Saskatoon branch of the Canadian International Council (CIC-Saskatoon) has actively served to connect our local populations with issues of the world –and with knowledge of Canada’s role in the world community. CIC-Saskatoon has a diverse and enthusiastic group of members who share a strong interest in foreign affairs, international business and trade. Our roster of branch members have included current and past university presidents, cabinet ministers, foreign policy practitioners and engaged citizens.
During non-COVID times, CIC-Saskatoon hosts some 15 events locally during our programming year of September to June. Currently, in these times of lockdown we serve as an aggregator, providing you with the means to attend via your computer virtual events that are taking place all aound the country in the name of CIC. Our events include single speaker keynote addresses, expert panel events, intimate and interactive Politics in the Pub events, and information sessions geared to young professionals interested in a career in international affairs.
Speakers at our events have included Ambassadors and Consuls General, Government ministers and officials, international trade experts, prominent academics and representatives of international development agencies. All of our events include a question and answer segment and an informal post-gathering, providing an opportunity for further education and excitement and to network.
